We are saying bye bye to 2023 and we are proud to announce that we have given a second life to 1544 items during last year! This means that together with your support we are making difference!
For me New Year symbolises new beginnings and clean start. Which ultimately means clean wardrobe. By clean I don’t just mean folding your clothes and putting it nicely in your wardrobe and then forgetting again what you have.
Point is to start fresh and make sure that what you have in your wardrobe you can call Staple pieces.
By doing this it will help you to embrace minimalist lifestyle and reduce clutter which will simplify your life.
Capsule wardrobe is there to make your life easier however we understand that building one is not easiest thing to do! Which is why we are here to help you out!
One of the first, and probably hardest steps, is separate your wardrobe by seasons (Summer and Winter) and get rid of everything that you don’t wear. This includes clothes that doesn’t fit you. I know what you’re thinking - ‘But it might fit in couple of months!’ , I am sorry to tell you this but you have that garment for years and it was never the right size.
What can make this process easier is leaving all the items in bags for couple of months and see if you’re missing them. I can promise you that you won’t even think about these pieces. After some time decide if you can donate them or even swap with friends and family before throwing them!
Step two is much easier one! When you go to buy groceries we make lists of what we need and often we forget to do the same when buying clothes. Instead of going clueless into the shops make sure to have a plan. Especially after first step of decluttering you will have much better picture of what you realistically need. It goes without saying that we should all first consider Second Hand and Vintage shops. In case you can’t find the item that you need, make sure to check Sustainable brands!
Step three would be related to colours of your Capsule wardrobe. Make sure that your Staple pieces have one neutral colour and then you can easily build around that. Stick to what you like and you know you will wear!
With that said make sure that you can mix and match your clothes! When you have pieces that go together you will save time in the morning instead of spending an hour in front of the mirror hating everything that you have.
And last but not least, use 30 wears rule! Before you purchase anything make sure to ask yourself ‘Will I wear this 30 times?’ If you are even a little doubting yourself don’t make a purchase!
Let us know if you're going to try to implement this steps in your life!
